I’m happy to report that October was a much better month than September was. Not only was I able to increase my revenue for my business, but I was also able to reduce expenses.
I’m starting to see some signs of life from other sites in my portfolio and this is very exciting. In fact, one of my sites surpassed 10,000 page views which means that I’ll be throwing Ezoic on it in November.
In addition, in only the second month of our new faceless YouTube channel, one of the videos ended up going viral and though it didn’t make us any money because the channel isn't monetized, it’s grown the channel significantly.
Lastly, for the first time in a very long time I decided to do a pre-launch of an online course called Keyword Research Made Easy. I’m very excited with how that turned out and can’t wait to release it to the public. That all said, there’s quite a bit to report this month and I’m excited to tell you all about it.
This month my total income after expenses was $15,350 which comes out to $495 in profit per day.

Personal Life Update
From a personal standpoint, I don’t have a ton to add to this report. My wife and I have been doing well and the pregnancy is moving along right on schedule.
My wife was visiting Brazil for the first half of October which made my life pretty boring to be honest, but she’s returned and everything has been good.
I think the best part about the month is that I’ve been in contact with some of the people who still live in Illinois, the state I’m originally from, and I got to hear how the weather has been changing drastically.
Here in Vegas, I’m still able to wear shorts and a T-shirt during the day without any issue at all.
However, in Chicago, the darkness begins and while I'm able to go outside at any point, my friends and family from back home are stuck inside barely able to see the sun. For those wondering, that was one of the biggest reasons why we chose to move away from the state.
Halloween was uneventful. I was surprised to find that our neighborhood had way more kids trick-or-treating than I had anticipated. While we purchased candy for around 100 kids, at 150 kids I had to run to the store to purchase 80 full-size candy bars.
Then, after returning to the house ready to hand them all out, we only got three more trick-or-treaters. This was annoying, but a lesson learned for next year.
Lastly, my wife and I have plans to visit family during the holidays, which will be a nice change of pace.

I’m doing this for a number of reasons:
1) I strive to be transparent about what it takes to make money online.
2) These reports help me keep track of my own progress.
3) These reports hold me accountable.
Keep in mind, I don’t create these to gloat about my earnings. I create them to help you understand the true “earning curve” of online business.
On a side note, I don’t disclose my actual website URL’s on my reports because I’ve had bad experiences with copycats in the past.

Udemy Update
I don’t focus on Udemy any longer, but I have made money from them every month since I stopped.
OHP Website
- While this website did have a bounce-back month, I’m really starting to question why I’m putting so much emphasis here. The thing is, I really do want to teach people how to build and grow their own online business and become wildly profitable doing so, but it’s so insanely competitive that I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth it. I’ve been busting my butt on this site for over a year, and while I’ve definitely seen increases in revenue and my own personal brand, I’m also aware of the fact that I can just as easily build other websites that I think would do exceptionally well much quicker than this website would. While I’m not about to make any rash decisions, and I’d never completely stop this site, it has got me thinking.
Aside from that, the GOOD news is that I did quite a lot of presales in my initial launch. I decided not to include this in my income reports, though I will in the future I think. I’m very excited that people trust me enough to pay for a course BEFORE it launches and this just goes to show the power of the years of free content I’ve put out there.

- This month I earned: $8,258. This was a 46% increase in earnings which I was very happy to see.
- EPM increased to $145 which is the highest it’s ever been.
- PLAN: While this was a good month for the site, I’m beyond frustrated because there are many different articles that (based on backlinks and content quality) should be ranking well in Google, but aren’t. It’s hard to explain this, but essentially I’m doing everything I can to rank pages in the top 3 results on Google. I’m having some success, but oftentimes things just aren’t clicking. While that’s frustrating in and of itself, the more frustrating thing is when I look at competitors who haven’t put in nearly as much work as I have, and they are ranked far above me.
This is a stark contrast from my usual type of business model where I create a site, publish thousands of articles, and sit back to collect money passively. I’m by no means about to stop working on the site, but I must figure out how to better optimize for Google’s algorithm and the user search intent or I’m going to absolutely lose my mind. If anybody knows of any experts in this field who can really deliver results, let me know. I’d love to have that discussion.

- I have done nothing on this site for at least 12 months except add Ezoic and it continues to print money for me. I have no intention of working on it and will just let this sit as I work on my other projects.
- Pageviews hit 150kk this month, which is a 3% decrease MoM.
- This month I earned: $3,057. This was an increase of 4% MoM.
- EPM increased to $20.25 from the prior month.
- PLAN: This site is currently 100% passive and I do not work on it. I intend on selling this site once I’m consistently making enough from OHP to justify it.
Website 5

Website 6
- I’ve got to be honest, the fact that I’ve done nothing on this website and it continues to grow is not only encouraging but makes me think that I’m being stupid. Interestingly, from the beginning of the year, the traffic has more than doubled with absolutely no effort. That said, it now has my attention and I’m working on building it up.
- Pageviews hit 25k this month, which is a 17% increase MoM.
- This month I earned: $512 and earnings increased 26% MoM.
- EPM is at $20.62 which is pretty good.
- How Much Have I Invested in This Website: $5,718
- How Much Money Has This Website Made? $3,366
- Total ROI: -$2,352 (If I were to sell the website today, I can assume I’d sell for an estimated $15k. Which means a net gain of roughly $12,500)
- How Much Content is on the Website? Keep in mind this website is mostly focused on affiliate content with some informational content: 222 Blog posts
- PLAN: The production on this site has been paused for some time, but this random increase in earnings and traffic has made me realize that I need to focus on it again. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this type of increase in a site that has just sat, and obviously search engines like something that I’m doing so I need to capitalize on that. In the month of November, it’s my intention to reassign a new writer to this blog and get content going again. The good news here is that there is no shortage of ideas and plenty of content that I can create.
The biggest problem with this site is the domain, which really isn’t all that good, so I may also go through a rebrand and redirect the entire site to a new URL. I’ve never done this before, so it should be an interesting experience. I’m not 100% sure if I’ll get that done in November, but I will get it done soon. Depending on how things go with the OHP site until the end of the year, I may shift my focus into link building for this site as well. If I do that, my thought is that things will exponentially grow.
Website 7
- This site has (again) beaten all of its records from the previous months. The total earnings are higher than ever as are the page views. In fact, now this is the most visited site in my entire portfolio every month and there is quite a bit more to write. I am in awe at how well the site has been doing and look forward to continually growing it in the future.
- Pageviews reached 149k this month, a 4% increase.
- This month I earned: $5,580. This was an increase of 11% MoM.
- EPM for the site this month is $37.48.
- How Much Have I Invested in This Website: $37,760 ($900 Content budget each month)
- How Much Money Has This Website Made? $44,129
- Total ROI: $6,369 (If I were to sell the website today, I can assume I’d sell for an estimated $165k. Which means a net gain of about $171,000)
- How Much Content is on the Website: Keep in mind that this is an informational type of website, not affiliate related.

- PLAN: I’d still like to see the site traffic increase a little bit quicker than it has, but I definitely don’t think there’s any action to do here other than creating more content. I spoke with my writer recently and it’s very possible that we have another couple thousand articles to put into the site, so it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a slowdown of production anytime soon. In addition to that, I recently realized I had some settings on Ezoic that were limiting the earnings potential of the site and removed them. It should be interesting to see how much revenue this site makes in November. I wouldn’t be surprised to see at least a 15% lift in revenue.
Website 8
- Another cool thing to happen this month is that this site finally surpassed the pageview threshold that allows me to put ads on it. Truth be told, I could put ads on a site before 10,000 page views every month, but I just refuse to do so. I don’t think the user experience sacrifice is worth it and would rather wait until after the site has some love from the search engines. It’ll be great to see how well the site does in its EPM and earnings category now that there is significant traffic.

- PLAN: The fact that this site hit the pageview threshold for display ads is very exciting. While I don’t know exactly how much it’s going to make per thousand views, I believe that it’s going to do relatively well compared to my other projects out there. This niche has higher purchase intent than many of my other sites and has the potential to grow much larger. My hope is that the display ads can offset my content costs, which will allow me to invest even more money into content production. As of now, the site is still on autopilot with the content being written, edited, and posted without my intervention.

- This is month 8 of the (100% Outsourced Authority Website Built by BrandBuilders). I’m happy to report that this site is starting to get some traffic and while it’s not significant, the niche that the site is in has me very excited.
Like two of my other websites, it’s a very broad niche with many different topics to focus on and I think some good things could come of this in the future. As of now, I continue to build links here and there with some guest posts that I write, but this site is just sitting and aging at this time. It’s month 8 and this is typically when I tell people to start looking for a “pop” in organic traffic and this graph shows exactly why. - Pageviews were 1152, a 200% increase MoM.

- PLAN: I’m going to continue to slowly build links to the site. In time, I do intend on hiring a writer to create one to two pieces of content per week for the site, but I’d like to get to a domain authority of 45+ before I do so. I think I’ll be able to do it, and once I do I’ll focus on very low competition keywords to see if I can rank well.
Website 8 YouTube Channel
- I’ve noticed that this particular YouTube channel continues to slowly and steadily increase in earnings. This month was a little bit down compared to the last month, but the difference was negligible. I do expect things to bounce back in November as display ad bidding hits all-time highs in Q4 of each year. - Earnings increased to $1,013, which is a decrease of 1% MoM.

- PLAN: The team that my wife and I (mostly my wife to be honest) have built continues to publish a video every day on this channel. For the near term, that continues to be the plan.
OHP YouTube Channel
- The OHP YouTube channel did relatively well this month considering it’s been sitting since July. But I do have some good news here… I think I’m finally in a come back to YouTube. I miss creating YouTube videos and want to jump back into it. I’ve upgraded my filming setup and have a new office that’s going to allow me to create everything as needed, plus I got a nice wireless mic pack that allows me to walk around while I create videos which could lead to some interesting content.
- Views dropped to 22k, which was an 8% decrease MoM
- Gained 355 subscribers this month.
- Channel earned $540 this month. An earnings increase of 1%

- PLAN: While I’m not jumping in just yet, I plan on getting started here in the new year. When I begin, I’m going to commit to one video per week (and may release more as my schedule fits) and will also remove ads in most cases. Previously all videos had ads and I’m realizing that was pretty dumb because affiliate marketing and courses can pay a lot more from a business perspective. So, the current ads that I have running on other videos will help pay for my editor each month and the new content that I create will be monetized primarily through affiliate marketing or by speaking about my courses.
Themed YouTube Channel 2 *NEW*
- I have to say that I am somewhat mystified by what is happening here. At this point, this channel only has 21 videos live and amazingly one of our videos has already gone viral. Not necessarily millions of views, but it was able to rack up over 80,000 views in the month of October, and considering this is only the 16th video we ever published, it definitely proves the concept for a channel.
While I would’ve loved to have been monetized here as this probably would’ve ended up making us around $400, we’ll just have to continue to work to try to get the channel monetized. If you’re unaware, to get a channel monetized on YouTube you need 4,000 hrs of watch time and 1,000 subscribers. While we were able to hit the watch time goal in October, it’s definitely more difficult to get 1,000 subscribers. That said, we’re more than halfway there and my hope is that we’ll be able to monetize at the end of November. - PLAN: Due to the video going viral and other videos getting organic views, the concept of this channel is proven. Granted, we can’t make money right now and we’re shoveling money into it, I have confidence that this channel will continue to grow and pay dividends in the future. While we don’t yet know what the earnings per thousand views will be, it looks like this channel is going to be a hit. So, we’ve moved production to three videos per week and have a team in place. The plan, for now, is to continue with three videos per week and eventually may be moved to a video every other day. But, for now, we’re taking a small step in producing an additional video each week.
Thalita Vlog Channel
- Thalita’s vlog channel is doing pretty well considering how little effort she’s putting into it. She’s begun to record a few more videos during the week mostly because she enjoys it, but also because it pays her a little bit of extra money.
- Views hit 100k this month, which is an increase of 262% MoM.
- Gained 1,967 subscribers this month.
- Earnings increased to $152, which is an increase of 194% MoM.

- PLAN: As of now Thalita will continue to publish two videos per week. Her engagement has increased since she announced her pregnancy which is great news.
Lessons Learned
Every month, I’m going to reflect back and tell you a few different lessons that I’ve learned. My hope is that the lessons each month will be a cautionary tale for you that makes it so that you don’t make the dumb mistakes that I do along the way.
- (Themed YouTube Channel 2) Having a video go viral, even if you can’t make money from it, is an awesome feeling. While we had some haters talking trash about the video, there were many positive comments, and it was cool to see people talking about how big our channel is going to be.
- (Website 6 Update) Sometimes the old “build and hold” strategy can work wonders. While I’m still not sure exactly why search engines gave this site more love, I’m thrilled it sits where it is.
- (OHP YouTube Channel) I probably made some big mistakes in the past by monetizing with display ads on YouTube. While this can be lucrative with massive amounts of views if you’re niched-down, focus on affiliates and courses.
